SUMMARY:Lipoedema UK's Conference for Allied Healthcare Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Lipoedema UK’s first conference for Allied Healthcare Professionals brings together leading international experts on treatment for lipoedema patients and explores the challenge of providing surgical treatments for lipoedema\, weight reduction\, treatment guidelines\, and evaluating the results. \nMany patients with lipoedema are desperate to find ways to prevent the condition advancing\, especially as in the later stages it can severely impact mobility and quality of life. Even in the early stages lipoedema can have a devastatingly detrimental affect on a young woman’s self-esteem and self-confidence.  So far most CCG bodies have refused to fund liposuction on the NHS\, classifying it as a cosmetic procedure\, but many patients find liposuction the only solution\, many being forced to fund it themselves and travel abroad for treatment. \n\nProfessor Dr. Wilfred Schmeller and his team\, Dr. Yvonne Frambach and Dr. Axel Baumgartner from the Hanse-klinik Germany\, will be presenting on their method of tumescent liposuction and their long-term results.\nMr. Alex Munnoch and Miss Anne Dancey will be speaking about the surgical options they are offering patients in the UK.\nDr. Harry Voesten brings experience of operating on severe cases of lipoedema in the Netherlands.  Catherine Seo will be speaking on her work with The Lipoedema Project and Dr. Mark Smith and in the US\, who is treating patient with Professor Stutz’s method of WAL liposuction.\nDutch Researchers\, Dr. Robert Damstra\, physiotherapist Axel Hendrickx and Dr. Harry Voesten will present the findings of their study comparing conservative treatments for patients with lipoedema to those with obesity. There is hope\, and “It’s not your fault”! \nΒίντεο – H ασθένεια που ονομάζεται ΛΙΠΟΣ – ένα ντοκυμαντέρ για το λιποοίδημα.\nΗ Κατερίνα ήξερε ότι κάτι δεν πήγαινε καλά μαζί της διότι παρόλο που το διαιτολόγιο της ήταν υγιεινό\, και ασκείτο με ένταση και επιμονή\, συνέχιζε να παίρνει βάρος. Δεν υπήρχε δικαιολογία. Μετά από χρόνια με λανθασμένες διαγνώσεις\, πολλαπλές χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις και έχοντας υποφέρει με υπερβολικό πόνο που απειλούσε την κινητικότητα της\, επιτέλους βρήκε την σωστή διάγνωση. Πάσχει από μιά πάθηση απο την οποία πάσχουν εκατομμύρια γυναίκες χωρίς να το γνωρίζουν. Είναι μία διαταραχή του λιπώδους ιστού\, που ονομάζεται Λιποοίδημα. Δημιούργησε αυτό το ντοκιμαντέρ με αναφορές  από γνωστούς γιατρούς και ασθενείς σας προσφέροντάς σας τα πραγματικά γεγονότα. Υπάρχει ελπίδα\, δεν είστε εσείς υπαίτιοι !
